About Fraser
Hi there! My name is Fraser Heppel, I'm 19 years old from Buckinghamshire and am currently on an Undergraduate course at the University of Southampton studying Mechanical Engineering. I have a strong academic background in maths and physics, and I’m passionate about helping students understand and enjoy these subjects. I’ve supported GCSE students with their maths studies, focusing on clear explanations, confidence-building, and exam techniques. I'm friendly, patient, and always ready to adapt my teaching to suit each student’s learning style. Whether you're aiming to boost your grades or deepen your understanding, I’m here to help. I have flexible hours and may be available on short notice for emergency revision sessions. Having fairly recently completed my GCSEs (In 2022) I have a good understanding of what examiners are looking for from their students and also the kind of pressure that young students are under to perform, I'm here to relieve some of that pressure. I also love cars and dogs :).

My approach to tutoring maths and physics is student-focused and builds confidence by developing a strong foundation in core concepts before progressing to more complex problems. I use clear explanations, step-by-step problem-solving, and real-life applications to make abstract ideas more tangible. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include a quick review, introduction of new material, guided practice, and a recap. I am currently studying a Master's in Mechanical Engineering as an Undergraduate at the University of Southampton. My tutoring lessons are aimed at students struggling to grasp concepts in Maths and Physics at the GCSE and KS3 level. I also have experience tutoring GCSE Maths students at school as a Sixth-form student. It may interest you to know that I was tutored in Physics during my GCSEs so I have a good understanding of the needs of children who are struggling with their studies or are keen to master their subjects.

Fraser is a hardworking, patient person. I am in year 10 and am studying for my GCSE mock exams. He has really helped me understand multiple topics in maths such as trigonometry and recurring decimals as fractions. Both of these topics I have really struggled with in the past and now I inderstand them completely thanks to him!
