About Wilhelmina
I am Wilhelmina Li, a third-year Mechatronics Engineering student at The University of Auckland with a strong passion for robotics and education. My experience as an academic tutor, particularly in helping international students transition into a new education system, has deepened my belief in the power of personalized learning. Teaching brings me great fulfillment, as I enjoy helping students build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and achieve their academic goals. By breaking down complex concepts into simple, relatable steps, I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that empowers students to succeed.

I take a student-centered approach to tutoring, tailoring my teaching methods to suit each learner’s needs. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps. My sessions focus on interactive learning, where students actively engage in problem-solving rather than passive listening. I also aim to keep lessons light-hearted and enjoyable.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I can adjust the duration based on the student's needs and attention span. For younger students or those requiring more intensive support, shorter or longer sessions can be arranged.
I am a third-year Mechatronics Engineering student at The University of Auckland, with strong expertise in mathematics. I have experience as an academic tutor, helping students transition into a foreign education system, particularly those who have recently moved from China and are not fluent in English. Through this, I have developed the ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt lessons to different learning styles.
I offer lessons for a range of students, including primary and secondary school students (Years 3-13) who need help with math, and international students adjusting to new academic environments. My goal is to help students build confidence and develop problem-solving skills so they can approach their studies with greater independence and success.
