I have been employed as an academic tutor since the beginning of 2021 at two different universities. I describe myself as a passionate nerd who owns the identity. While I was in medical school I was pouring over classical texts from philosophy. Halfway through my medical degree I decided to acquire a deep understanding of the psychology and neuroscience of learning, skill acquisition, memory, attention, motivation and habit formation. This remains an area of interest to me given the skill of learning really is a meta-skill for an obsessive autodidact like myself. I'm now very passionate about imparting the lessons I've learned about the science of learning to all my students.
In terms of lesson planning, I can plan entire curriculums for you, or you can turn up on the day with questions you'd like to go through with me. I'm a very laidback person and very easy to talk to. I bring that laidback attitude to my lessons which enables my students to always feel comfortable asking questions, having a break to chat about whatever is on their minds and never, ever feeling "silly" or "dumb" when asking questions.
