About Brigette
Hello! My name is Brigette, and I am a Cum Laude Honors graduate in Medical Microbiology with a strong passion for Biology, Life Sciences, and helping students discover confidence in their learning abilities.
My academic journey in Biotechnology and Medical Microbiology has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of biological sciences, from foundational Life Sciences concepts to more advanced topics in microbiology, molecular biology, and genetics. Beyond my academic background, I have experience supporting Grade 10–12 Life Sciences learners through volunteer tutoring, where I helped students understand difficult concepts, prepare for assessments, and improve their confidence in the subject.
I am passionate about teaching because I believe science becomes exciting when learners understand the “why” behind concepts rather than simply memorizing information. I enjoy breaking down complex topics into simpler explanations and creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
I am a patient, dedicated, and approachable tutor who is committed to helping each learner reach their academic goals. I look forward to supporting students in building a stronger understanding of Life Sciences and developing the skills needed to succeed.

My approach to tutoring focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their understanding of Biology and Life Sciences. I believe that effective learning comes from understanding concepts rather than simply memorizing information, so I use clear explanations, real-life examples, diagrams, and step-by-step breakdowns to help students grasp challenging topics.
As a Cum Laude Honors graduate in Medical Microbiology with a Biotechnology background, I bring strong scientific knowledge and experience in biological sciences. My goal is to make Life Sciences more relatable by connecting concepts to how they occur in the real world, while helping learners develop problem-solving skills and effective study strategies.
Lessons are personalized according to each learner’s needs and may include reviewing difficult topics, working through past exam questions, improving answering techniques, preparing for assessments, and strengthening foundational knowledge. A typical lesson involves identifying areas of difficulty, explaining concepts in a way that suits the learner’s learning style, practicing questions, and reinforcing understanding.
I am proficient in English, Sesotho and isiZulu and am able to teach in English, with the ability to support learners using Sesotho and isiZulu explanations where needed.
My lessons are aimed at Grade 10–12 Life Sciences learners, as well as university students who need additional support with Biology-related subjects. Whether a learner is struggling with concepts, preparing for exams, or aiming to improve their academic performance, I aim to provide patient, structured, and encouraging support.
