About Thomas
Hello! I'm Thomas, a third-year medical student at the University of Exeter.
Before medical school, I worked in multiple sectors, including maritime, finance, and healthcare. These experiences have allowed me to bolster my communication skills in various challenging and routine settings. It has also allowed me to manage applicants at every stage of the application journey, from application to job offer.
I have supported other aspiring medics in their interview preparation during my time in medical school. I decided to pursue this following my success in receiving four offers to study medicine at high-ranking institutions and my desire to make this a reality for more people who may have yet to have the chance to practice their interview techniques. Each individual I have supported has gone on to study at various medical schools across the UK, and I hope to do this for you, too.
Drawing on my diverse range of experiences, I am eager to work with you to help you secure a place at your desired university. I offer tutoring for Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) and Panel Interviews (PI).
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.

We will start by exploring why medical schools use a multi-factorial process to select their cohorts. Once we have established a foundation, we will work to understand your motivations for applying to medical school and how we can use these motivations to power you through the interview process.
We will cover everything from answer delivery to body language and the importance of showing empathy and understanding throughout. We'll delve into common interview questions, discussing how to answer in a way that showcases your strengths, dedication, and passion for medicine. This will include examining how to articulate your experiences in research, volunteer work, and any clinical experiences you have had in a manner that aligns with the values and expectations of the medical school you're applying to.
Additionally, we'll explore strategies for dealing with the nerves that come with interviewing, ensuring you present your best self on the day. Techniques such as mindfulness, breathing exercises, and positive visualisation will be covered, alongside practical advice for the night before and the interview day.
By the end of our sessions, you'll be equipped with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to tackle the medical school interview process head-on, allowing you to secure a place you've worked hard to gain.
