Hello, I’m Daanyaal!
Welcome! I’m a passionate science tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in helping students understand and enjoy science.
I hold an MSc in Molecular Biology, graduating Cum Laude from Stellenbosch University, as well as a BSc Honours and BSc in Biotechnology. My academic and professional experience has given me a strong foundation in Biology, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and related scientific subjects.
My teaching philosophy is simple: understanding comes before memorisation. I aim to break down challenging concepts into clear, manageable ideas and use practical examples to help students see how what they are learning connects to the real world. I also understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to their individual needs, pace, and goals.
In a typical lesson, we will focus on the areas you find most challenging. I’ll explain concepts step by step, work through examples with you, answer your questions, and provide opportunities for you to apply what you have learned. Whether you are preparing for an upcoming test, catching up on difficult material, working through assignments, or simply looking to improve your confidence, I will tailor the lesson accordingly.
I am able to teach in English and provide a professional, patient, and supportive learning environment. I work particularly well with students who want to develop a deeper understanding of their subject rather than simply memorising answers.
Most importantly, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling that a topic which once seemed difficult is now something they can confidently tackle themselves.

My approach to tutoring is centred around making difficult concepts simple, practical, and easy to understand. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit the student’s individual learning pace, strengths, and areas that need improvement. Rather than simply memorising information, I focus on helping students understand why something works and how to apply it confidently.
What makes me unique as a teacher is my combination of academic and practical experience in science. I hold an MSc in Molecular Biology (Cum Laude) and have experience working in both research and technical environments. This allows me to connect theoretical concepts to real-world examples and explain complex scientific topics in a straightforward way.
I offer tutoring primarily in English, and I am able to teach and communicate effectively in English throughout the lesson.

Lessons are structured around the student's specific needs. We may begin by identifying areas they are struggling with, followed by a clear explanation of the topic, worked examples, and guided practice. I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate rather than simply listening to a lecture.
