In private tutoring settings I prefer to teach students by relating challenging topics to things that they enjoy (through analogies, metaphors, etc). In addition to this, I can tailor my methods to whatever the students prefer, whether they are visual learners, prefer to read the material themselves and then discuss with me, or if they like to be taught in a formal lecture-like manner.
