About Surina

I am an experienced tutor, having taught many students from primary level to A Level, all with fantastic results. Within a few months I managed to get a student from Grade 1 to Grade 5 in GCSE Foundation Maths, and I have most importantly instilled confidence in all my students that they are capable of achieving strong results in their subjects.

PRIOR TO TUTORING:
I was selected to be a mentor in Mathematics for younger students at my school, mentoring a student in Year 8 for a year. Through this experience, I was able to quickly identify her learning style and adapted my teaching methods accordingly to ensure the best possible progress for the student. I identified the areas that the student struggled in particularly, and after making sure that the core principles of knowledge were taught, I then helped the student with exam technique. The year of regular mentoring enabled the student to make a vast progress in their test results at school.

The rewarding nature of my mentoring experiences have inspired me to teach other students in this gratifying subject.

About the lesson

I am a 2nd Year Medical Student at Imperial College London who studied A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths, receiving A*A*A*A respectively. I provide tuition in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at Primary, Secondary, GCSE and A Level to pupils in and around the Buckinghamshire and West London areas. My approach to teaching includes finding and filling the gaps in the knowledge base of students, and reinforcing this knowledge by ensuring pupils can apply their skills to examination formats. Each student learns in a unique way, so I am keen to be flexible with my teaching approach in order to best suit the student's learning.

I am available for providing tuition directly at the student's home in an environment in which the student feels comfortable. I am also very experienced in delivering online tuition, which students often feel is more effective for their learning.

With the current situation, I will only be providing online tuition, however as previously mentioned, I am very experienced in doing so. I am confident that I will provide an outstanding service online, using Skype and projecting my screen of my iPad on which I can draw diagrams, explain using notes, carry out exam questions and finally send the student a copy of this at the end of each lesson, along with any other questions I may want them to complete.
