About Vilas

Hi! My name is Vilas and I'm a third-year medical student at North Wales Medical School. I've had a strong passion for Maths and Science ever since I was a child, and therefore I have always wanted to teach these subjects.

I have a proven track record of academic success, having achieved 14 A*s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A-Level. I understand exactly what it takes to perform at the highest level, and I want to help others get there too.

What makes me stand out is my focus on how to learn, not just what to learn. I use techniques like active recall and visual explanations to make complex topics stick, rather than relying on passive memorisation. My lessons are highly interactive — I regularly test students throughout to build confidence, identify gaps, and reinforce understanding in real time.

I genuinely love Maths because it feels like solving a logical puzzle — once you understand the steps, everything starts to click. I realised from a young age that Maths can indeed be fun, and my aim is to make my students just as enthusiastic as I am! I bring creativity into every session, finding different ways to explain tricky concepts until they click. I'm willing to support students in reaching their goals, no matter their academic ability.

About the lesson

What makes me stand out is my focus on how to learn, not just what to learn. I use techniques like active recall and visual explanations to make complex topics stick, rather than relying on passive memorisation. My lessons are highly interactive — I regularly test students throughout to build confidence, identify gaps, and reinforce understanding in real time.

I am flexible in my approach, with a typical lesson lasting 1 hour or perhaps longer, as I tailor my lessons to the student’s individual needs. I teach a wide range of age groups, from Year 3 to GCSE level. Over 100+ hours in tutoring, achieved 14 A*s at GCSE level and A*A*A* for A-level Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Currently 3rd year medical student.
