About Rebecca
A few years ago I established a lunchtime science club to help tutor GCSE students which sparked an interest in education. Since then I have been a professional tutor for two years and completed over 200 hours of tuition of the sciences and maths both at GCSE and A level. I have the first-hand knowledge of the curriculums having completed my A levels in the last five years and I have the experience of tutoring to be able to impart this knowledge. I have also have an enhanced DBS check. My passion for the sciences and maths resulted in my decision to study medicine. Now that I am in my fourth year, I am at clinical placements almost every day. I educate patients about their conditions, how to have a healthier lifestyle, and basic anatomy so they understand their health conditions. This has enhanced my ability to take complicated subjects and simplify them to make them easier to understand. This is a skill I have often relied on when tutoring.

My technique of tutoring is to ensure the student has a full understanding of the topic and then consolidating that knowledge through past paper questions. From experience, I believe this is the best way to revise the sciences and maths. You may fully understand the topic being asked about but without knowing what the examiner is looking for, it is difficult to achieve the top marks. There is no substitute for lots of exam practice in a stress-free environment where it makes no difference if you make a mistake. I want to make learning fun because that is what makes the content memorable. I used this technique to achieve A* in the sciences and maths at GCSE and then A*A*A*A in biology, chemistry, maths, and physics at A level. A typical lesson is 55 minutes long which allows time for questions at the end and booking in the next lesson. I understand that people have busy lives so I am happy to book lessons as a block or on a session-by-session basis. I offer A level biology and chemistry, and GCSE sciences and maths.

I had lots of lessons with Rebecca during my time as a sixth former and she really helped me to understand chemistry as I was really struggling with it at first. With her help I managed to get through my exams without thinking they were too hard.
