About Grace

I am a medical student at the University of Manchester in my clinical years. I achieved the top tenth percentile in the UCAT and received offers from 4 Russell Group universities. I work as a student ambassador for the University of Manchester, helping run open days and providing guidance for applying to UoM, and I want to expand my reach to students applying to any UCAT/MMI medical school in the UK. I have experience in tutoring, from GCSEs, to university interviews, to the UCAT, and am moving my platform online to reach beyond the North West pool.

About the lesson

Using personalised lesson plans I coach A-level students who are considering applying to medicine in taking the entrance exam (UCAT) and the MMIs (multiple mini interviews) which are the most common requirements for medical schools in the UK. I want to share the techniques that I used to achieve my results with others whilst still tailoring it to a style that suits you. In our taster session we will explore your preferred learning methods and see whether my techniques are suited to you, we will then create a lesson plan leading up to either the interview or your UCAT where I’ll help build your confidence and proficiency until you are as prepared as possible for the first steps in your journey towards medical school. Taster sessions are online, then we can discuss whether you’d prefer online or in person lessons. A typical lesson will start with a few practice questions based on the areas we struggled most with in the previous week. We will then discuss your results and go over ways we can improve on your approach to the questions. The rest of the lesson will be spent going over different areas of the UCAT or MMI, and by analysing the meta-cognitions that you used in your answer logic, we will dive into the root of any issues you may have in approaching these problems.
