About Liz
Hi, I'm from Malaysia and currently a medical student in TCD! I have tutored and mentored extensively in both paid and voluntary roles, from peers my age to young children, in community service and in my university as a tutor. I find teaching to be hugely rewarding and try my very best to help my students reach the "Eureka" moment - that really makes all the difference in my own experience with education.
Once you can grasp the significance behind a subject or topic at hand, there is nothing that can stop you from taking off! That is really what helped me enjoy my schooling years while thriving, getting top awards in various subjects, scholarship, and awards.
And I hope to help you to achieve that - to reach a stage where Maths and Science (and learning!) starts to make sense, feel important and enjoyable, and to set off a self-perpetuating cycle of continuous self-directed improvement :)

What are your techniques?
> The main component of my classes would be Q&A sessions, tackling on questions most relevant to the student and personalising the lesson, rather than forcing a standardised lesson plan and repeating familiar topics. I also understand how crucial Past Year Questions are and emphasise on those for older students preparing for major exams. These are two of the most powerful tools that carried me through my schooling years with great success.
> I'm available to be contacted by the student even out of class hours for any questions they might have on the subject (within reasonable limits) - as that was one aspect of learning that I found very valuable to myself as a student.
> For online classes, I also use online whiteboards as I believe that visual aids are a very valuable tool in teaching Maths & Sciences to aid comprehension, visualisation, and retention.
> Online resources such as relevant videos may also be provided where required.
