About Nikhita
My name is Nikhita and I'm educated to university degree level in Medicine. I've been tutoring for a couple of years now, both privately and for companies, and it's something I'm really passionate about. I think it's an excellent way to take my passion and skills for the subjects I have studied and use it to help someone else.
I hope to encourage students to enjoy learning and not see it as a daunting experience, but rather a positive one.
Furthermore, having achieved all A*'s at GCSE and A-Level, I believe I'm in a good position to spread my learning techniques and enthusiasm for learning to my students and hopefully make a difference!

I tutor in a range of subjects: maths, biology, chemistry, physics, Spanish and English up to GCSE. I typically take 2 hour weekly lessons per student, as I feel this is the ideal amount of time for them to learn new concepts, and also have time to consolidate and complete any homework, as well as balancing the tuition with their school studies and other commitments. But of course I would suggest more lessons a week if there is an imminent exam, or I feel they would benefit from more.
I like to keep my lessons as interactive as possible - mainly through asking the student questions after I explain concepts to them, and through setting them written questions to complete. I also like to focus on the harder concepts in class, as well as teaching exam technique - to make the most of the lesson time. I use a range of resources, including online whiteboards, question sets, videos, and workbooks. I almost always set homework too, which is an opportunity for the student to consolidate what they have learned, and bring any questions to the next lesson.
With regards to my qualifications and experience as a tutor - I achieved 10A* at GCSE and 4A* at A Level, and am now a medical student at UCL. I have tutored for about 4 years now, both privately and for companies, and so I've picked up some great techniques over the years to provide the best lessons I can!
