About Fateha

I am currently studying Medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. Before commencing my medical degree I studied BSc Biomedical Science, which I passed with a First! Following my graduation I worked in one of London's biggest pathology labs, working alongside some of the countries top pathology consultants and professors.

I have been tutoring and helping others with their studies since my days as a GCSE student. For me, teaching is highly rewarding and I work very hard to ensure my students understand each concept fully. I like to make my sessions interesting with the ultimate goal to achieve optimal exam results.

I also have a passion for drama where I am able to captivate my audience with my performances. I like to use the same concept when interacting with my students as I strongly believe a captivating and interactive lesson is far more effective than a lecture based teaching style, especially at GCSE level.

About the lesson

I have a very methodical approach to teaching. My ultimate aim is to ensure my students perform their absolute best in exams. I achieve this goal by identifying the specific exam the student will sit. I then study the learning outcomes for that module. Following this, I deliver my lessons based on the learning outcomes as its a known fact that most of the exam questions will be based on the learning objectives, hence I make it my priority to cover each objective thoroughly.

My delivery is simple (but effective); I introduce the topic to the student and explain the concept and demonstrate a working example using diagrams, pictures etc. I then work through a few questions with the students, ensuring they have understood the concept. I conclude with exam style questions so the students know how to answer questions in the exams to achieve top marks. I may also set homework so the student can repeat what they have learnt at home - repetition is key for memorisation! I always ensure to spend ten minutes of the new lesson to recap on the previous topic, simply to ensure the student has fully understood what they were taught before moving onto something new.

In addition, I am conscientious of the fact that all students are different and may require altered teaching approaches. I try to be vigilant to identify these differences so I can tailor my lessons to the needs of the specific student. My priority will always be the student; making them comfortable to learn in a positive atmosphere.
