I'm neurodivergent and love making connections. Teaching and learning from mistakes are essential parts of my process, and I'm here to work with you! I enjoy listening to different people's stories and am very passionate about my craft.
We typically start by practicing the four basic handbuilding techniques: pinch pots, coil building, solid building, and slab building. Once we complete these projects, we move on to throwing on the wheel. I begin my students this way to help them build muscle memory and develop patience. Clay can be a tricky medium to work with if we don't have a basic understanding of drying time, pressure, clay memory, and our relationship with it. We often get carried away watching TikTok videos of artists creating work at twice the speed, not realizing how much time it actually takes to create. This is why learning the fundamentals is important!
