About Cynthia
I completed and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University of Long Beach (CSULB) in 2015 and additionally hold a Certificate in Arts Management from UCI's Paul Merage School of Business (2020). I have years of experience managing supplemental non-profit arts education programs for elementary students. I am familiar and often refer to California's Visual Art & Performing Arts (VAPA) Standards. I pride myself in saying for almost a decade most of my students have been over the age of 60 and as young as 97. The curriculum I focus on: - Photography - Painting - Composition - Color Theory - Life Drawing

I offer high quality arts instruction that is not only built on a foundation that considers students from all cultures, backgrounds, abilities, and economic status, but is also tuned to meet the needs of each individual in their creative skill set and endeavors with Drawing & Painting.
My goal is to foster the support & motivation you seek to excel independent from classroom instruction.
In our first lesson, I prioritize meeting you at the stage of your journey and together we work to identify where your skills are and what kind of lessons you want to prioritize.
My typical lesson plans begin with establishing an understanding of how to use art making tools and materials to complete an exercise working from still lives and photographs with an emphasis on 2D drawing and color theory.
It is never too late to learn new skills and I am so excited to join you on YOUR artistic journey!
