About Amy
Bluegrass festivals in the American South shaped my ears long before I graduated from East Tennessee State University with my BFA in Music Performance. I spent 8 years traveling and performing old-time music across the region, which grounded my approach to the fiddle in reality. My 13 years of experience means I understand the nuance of DOUBLE STOPS and perfect tone production. Students in Tokyo or Seoul often look for clear guidance on shifting positions or mastering complex spiccato bowing.
I provide a calm environment where kids and intermediate performers can refine their craft. My process involves a diagnostic assessment before setting the practice plan. Expect a steady path toward your musical goals.

Struggling to navigate grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity often leaves students feeling overwhelmed by technical requirements. Ear training and music theory are much easier when approached through the lens of traditional Appalachian fiddling. We will tackle these hurdles by breaking down bowing patterns and intonation until they feel second nature.
Whether you need help with staccato bowing or want to understand rhythm, I offer a clear way forward. Kids appreciate the direct feedback while performance-focused learners find the structure helpful. I am here when you want to start playing.
