About Delaney

I am a qualified secondary English teacher with 5 years' experience in the classroom. I've been through the PGCE process and the ECT framework personally. I am passionate about helping teachers build confidence, develop practical skills, and feel supported in their learning journey.

I understand well both the rewards and challenges of modern teaching. I also know how impactful having a good mentor can be. My aim is to provide supportive, practical mentoring to support you in the ways that you need to be successful.

About the lesson

My mentoring approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to the individual teacher. I know how overwhelming teacher training and the first years of teaching can feel, so my goal is to provide a calm, encouraging space to build confidence, reflect, problem-solve, and develop strategies that genuinely work in the classroom.

Sessions are adapted to your needs and may include lesson planning support, behaviour management strategies, GCSE teaching strategies, observation preparation, workload organisation, questioning techniques, feedback and marking support, or simply talking through challenges with someone who understands the realities of teaching.

I worked in secondary education for 5 years and have experience with teaching GCSE English, tutoring students one-to-one, pastoral support, and supporting learners and colleagues with a range of situations. I now work independently to support GCSE students, trainee teachers, and early career teachers reach their goals.

My approach focuses on clear explanations, reflective practices, practical applications, and sustainable teaching habits rather than perfectionism.
