About Yahya
I’m Yahya Moosavi, an artist, educator, and the founder of Color Cocktail Factory. I earned my MFA in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I later taught. My practice moves between painting, sculpture, ceramics, mosaic, and public art.
I have taught thousands of people in studios, classrooms, and workshops—from complete beginners making their first drawing to committed artists developing ambitious bodies of work. I care about helping people find their own visual language, not teaching everyone to make work that looks like mine.
I am patient, direct, encouraging, and honest. I take your creative goals seriously, whether you are here for one calm hour a week, support with a personal project, or a focused plan toward art school.

I teach art as a living practice, not a one-size-fits-all assignment. Whether you want a relaxing weekly creative habit, serious technical growth, help finishing a personal project, or guidance building a portfolio for art school, we will make a plan that fits your goal.
I have an MFA in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and experience teaching artists of many ages and levels. I teach drawing, painting, hand-building pottery, mosaic, composition, color, creative direction, and portfolio development.
Our first lesson begins with what you want to make and where you feel stuck. From there, I give clear demonstrations, practical exercises, references, and thoughtful feedback. Beginners get confidence and structure; advanced students get sharper eyes, stronger ideas, and honest critique. Come with a blank page, a half-finished project, or a big ambition.
