About Charles
I am a published novelist, poet, and essayist. I have a love for speculative fiction and personal essay-writing. When not tutoring, I am often giving advice or critique to friends who request it, from their lyrics to love letters.
There is no single tried-and-true, all-encompassing method when it comes to writing in general: rather, there is the practice of articulating the dynamic voice of the individual, which can be molded in dozens of different ways. In this regard, I could be considered as much a "writing therapist" as a "writing tutor."

I am skilled in working with students who need assistance in writing-focused assignments or practices, from simple book reports and personal essays to academic, college-level papers.
I am able to work with a student's project from the conception and planning stages all the way to the execution; additionally, I am able to work with much more specified requirements or requests, such as proofreading for creative pieces or resume polishing.
There is no single, direct approach to every type of writing project, of course, as it is an art form of individuality (even formal essays have a degree of personality to them). I do not "teach lessons" so much as "give sessions," whereby I assess the student's requests and offer practical and useful approaches.
