About Molly
Creative, collaborative writer with a passion for storytelling and a talent for developing compelling content, including podcasts, visual novels, webcomics, screenplays, and social media content. Holds an MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage from Northwestern University. They taught three screenwriting courses while there, which earned them glowing reviews from students. In 2017, they were selected for the Araca Project which allowed them to produce their original play, Stix, in NYC. In 2022, they were hired as the Co-Head Writer for the video game startup MetaTheory. In this position, they helped to shape the brand's voice, build out the world of the company's original IP, and create a variety of content for the company's website and socials.

For creative project based lessons:
[This process is based on if the person being tutored already has a creative project in mind they would like to complete, but needs my help completing it.]
- we will break down the creative project into weekly achievable goals.
-examples of creative projects I've worked on in the past: scripts, novels, videogames, comic books, choose your own adventures, and more!
- We'll learn the basics of storytelling along the way. Identifying foundational words like plot, character, and act structure while also investigating more theoretical ideas such as the hero's journey (depending on what is age appropriate).
For general tutoring:
- Topics include: creative writing, screen writing, playwriting, storytelling, public speaking, and reading
- we will work together to establish goals for our time together. Ex: if we're doing reading, we may choose a book we want to finish in a certain timeline.
- We will work through exercises that help us towards achieving our set goals. Each exercise will ideally build on the previous one.
- I will help to find examples best suited to the individual and what they want to learn.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my ability to teach the basics of storytelling in any format to any age group. My professional projects include working for a video game company, which allowed me to work across many artistic platforms. However, at the end of the day, the basic tenants of story telling remain the same whether you're creating a nonfiction podcast or a sci-fi short film.
Additionally, I have experience teaching all ages. I know how to adapt a lesson plan according to age and am comfortable working with anyone from the age of 4 years and above. Adults included!
I have taught multiple screenwriting courses at the college level while I was a graduate student at Northwestern University. But have also had over 10+ years of childcare experience working with all ages. This makes me uniquely situated to work with almost any age group.
I am flexible, communicative, dedicated, and genuinely enjoy helping people find their artistic voice.
