About Michael

The Story of Michael Leggerie
In 1991, Michael Leggerie earned his Bachelor's Degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, 1991 with dual majors in Jazz and Classical Piano Performance, completing his studies in just 10 semesters over 4 years. With a diverse musical repertoire spanning various genres, he has been teaching piano to individuals of all ages and skill levels since 1987. Michael Leggerie has also garnered international experience, sharing stages with renowned artists like Rick Springfield, Al Jarreau, Dean Davidson, and more. Notably, he made a memorable appearance on the Rachael Ray Show, representing the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL's Fantasy Foodball competition episode, and performed the national anthems for the USA, England, and Ireland during the USGA Curtis Cup, broadcasted on major sports networks worldwide. About the lesson

At Michael Leggerie Piano Instruction Studio, regular attendance for Lessons is expected. Lessons are held on a Weekly basis, beginning with 1-Hour Sessions either in the Studio or Virtually via the Microsoft Teams platform upon request. We accept students of All Ages, All Styles, and All Levels. All genres of music are taught such as: Jazz, Classical, Rock, Pop, Blues, Latin, Country and much more. Instruction is given in many areas covering not just piano but also Reading charts, Reading Arrangements, how to improvise Lead Sheets and Real Books (aka Fake Books), all Music Theory levels, Ear Training, comprehensive Piano Technique, Accompaniment skills for Vocalists/Ensembles, orchestration methods, jazz/rock/ blues Improvisation, Chord-Melody Harmonization and all basic to very advanced Chord Progressions.

All lessons follow a very structured curriculum that are conducted weekly beginning with hourly sessions. Each lesson is tailored specifically to the student’s individual needs.
