About Anton
I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto with an Honor's Specialist in Microbiology and Microtechnology. I have experience working in the University's labs and have working knowledge of the mathematical, physical, and scientific disciplines. As well, I have experience working with students as a Tae Kwon Do instructor, where I would lead classes for the younger members of the school, as well as a private tutor for both elementary level math and science.

I firmly believe that for students to learn and retain information, it is important to structure lessons based on a snowball method of introducing concepts as simply as possible, making sure the student understands them through repetitive practice, and building upon the foundation set forth. Understanding the concepts thoroughly one at a time is what allows information to be transferred from our short term to our long term memory, and introducing concepts through visual and metaphors can help students better relate to abstract concepts from previous experience and understanding. Typical classes should begin with a quick refresher from the previous lesson with a focus on homework the student has done and then moving onto a new topic which builds on previous knowledge. Students should be given questions throughout the lesson to help them come to conclusions about the currently taught topic while reinforcing past knowledge, increasing confidence and critical thinking skills. After an explanation, guided practice should finish off the lesson so the students have an initial understanding of the topic with homework to help reinforce it at home.
