About Casey
I'm a middle school special education teacher in Rochester, NY who has been addicted to chess since college. I am a self-taught, Class A player. I've recently worked for the Rochester Chess Center coaching kids at chess camp, where we coach some of the top kids in the country (including the #1 rated 9 year old in the US!). I enjoyed it and would like to help out anyone who wants to learn! I love teaching and talking about chess and putting my 10+ years of knowledge to use.

Your personalized chess lessons will focus on key areas that can use the most improvement. Let's go over some games and learn how to think through positions, plan and prioritize. For beginners, the focus is usually on opening principles, basic tactics, checkmates and endgames. For intermediate players--pawn structures, when to trade, evaluating positions, plans and endgames. If you don't already, you will learn to love this game!
