About Tess
I am a believer of the saying that all students are capable of learning. I have a Master's Degree in Education and Math is my Field of Concentration. I started teaching Mathematics in 1981. While teaching, I was also a Math trainer and most of the time, my trainees were declared winners. I feel happy whenever I see a change in my students. I always get positive feedback from my students and administrators. I hope I will be able to help more students in learning math.

- I set high expectations and at the same time I consider my learners' capabilities. I discuss my expectations with the students. - I always start with a warmup followed by a review lesson and discussion. - Concept development starts with video lesson and discussion. I use math vocabularies like numerator instead of saying "top", denominator instead of saying "bottom". In solving word problems, I show my students how to annotate and paraphrase. After discussing the lesson, I give follow-up examples which are sometimes done in pairs or in groups. If there's enough time left, I give an exit ticket.
