About Donnie
Learning is accomplished in multiple ways. I am a visual learner and use pictures to explain an idea. Math is not just learning step-by-step procedures. The steps have to make sense. Many students struggle because they have missed mastering a concept along the way. My job is to help you find and develop that concept. Once that occurs, the learning process becomes easier. It also becomes fun--like solving a difficult puzzle or winning a video game. I am also patient because I have struggled in the past to master ideas and concepts. That personal struggle enables and motivates me to help you.

-I focus on learning the concepts that lead to an in-depth understanding of mathematics.
-I will design a lesson tailored to your needs. If you desire to master a concept, the lesson will focus on that topic. If you need help with specific problems or practice with assigned lessons, we will review the topic as we address the questions.
-I have a Master of Education degree in Middle Grades Education with a Focus on Math and English.
-I taught for 31 years in Savannah, Georgia. I instructed in Summer School for over 20 years. For the last 10 years, I was a math teacher at The STEM Academy at Bartlett in Savannah.
-I also served as the homebound teacher, specializing in meeting the students in both online and in-person instruction.
-I also bring a level of experience in real-world application achieved in military service as an Army Aviator.
