Hello! I'm Alfonso Ryan Arguelles, a Mining Engineering undergraduate with previous experience as a part-time tutor and teaching partner. I enjoy helping students understand mathematics by breaking down difficult concepts into simple, logical steps. My goal is not only to help students solve problems but also to develop their confidence and critical thinking skills.
My teaching approach is student-centered and interactive. I begin each lesson by identifying the student's current level of understanding, then explain concepts using clear examples before guiding them through practice problems. I encourage students to ask questions freely and make sure they understand the "why" behind every solution instead of simply memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson includes a quick review of previous topics, discussion of new concepts, guided examples, independent practice with feedback, and a short recap to reinforce learning. I also adapt my teaching style to each student's pace and learning preferences, ensuring that every session is productive and engaging.
What sets me apart is my combination of engineering training and tutoring experience. Engineering has strengthened my analytical and problem-solving skills, while my teaching experience has taught me how to explain complex ideas in a simple and approachable way. I believe that patience, consistency, and encouragement are essential for effective learning.
My lessons are ideal for elementary, junior high school, senior high school, and first-year college students who need help with mathematics, whether for regular classes, quizzes, exams, or building a stronger foundation in the subject. Whether you're catching up, preparing for an important test, or aiming for higher grades, I'll work with you to achieve your academic goals.
