About Edward

I have a strong background in math and computer science from MIT. I have taught students for over 10 years both in person and online. I believe that programming or coding is like writing and that one can write a good story in any language.

About the lesson

I'm an MIT graduate and love to teach Math and Computer Science. I believe that everyone has a unique learning style and that teaching should adapt to every student. I am very patient and effective. I teach every level from beginner to expert level. I also have industry experience and bring that wealth of knowledge. I currently teach AMC 8 and AMC 10 competition mathematics through recurring one-on-one lessons, using past contest problems to develop skills in algebra, geometry, number theory, counting, probability, and logical reasoning. As part of my MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree, I completed mathematics courses including 18.01 Single Variable Calculus, 18.02 Multivariable Calculus, 18.06 Linear Algebra, 6.041 Probabilistic Systems Analysis and Applied Probability, and 6.042 Mathematics for Computer Science. These courses provided rigorous training in proof-based reasoning, discrete mathematics, counting methods, permutations and combinations, probability, and number theory. I help AMC students recognize recurring problem structures, compare multiple solution methods, manage time strategically, and improve accuracy through careful analysis of their mistakes.
