About Ellie
I am an incoming college freshman studying mathematics at MIT. Currently, I am finishing up my senior year as a homeschooler. I have been homeschooled my entire life; during that time, I have taught myself math up through precalculus and scored a 5 on the AP calculus AB exam. Since then, I have taken Calculus 2, Differential Equations, and Introduction to Complex Analysis at Harvard Extension School and Calculus 3 at Bunker Hill Community College.
As for my tutoring credentials: I enjoy tutoring my siblings and peers in mathematics, and I am a volunteer tutor on the online learning platform schoolhouse.world - in fact, I am in the top 10% of tutors on that platform.

Although my lesson plans are personalized to the needs of each individual student, a typical lesson plan looks like this:
1. quick math warm-up game
2. 6 problems focused on a specific topic or skill.
3. Complete a 15- to 20- minute problem set (from Saxon Textbooks, The Princeton Review, or the student's textbook or homework)
4. Review the problem set, making sure the student understands both the conceptual and technical components of the problem.
The concepts we will cover depends on the needs of the student, but we will loosely follow the lesson plan set by Saxon (up to precalculus) or the Princeton Review (calculus).
As a tutor, my style is very relaxed. If we need to go at a slower pace than how we originally planned, we can.
