About Zachary
I am in my final year of an MMath Mathematics degree and integrated master's at the University of Oxford (New College). I have 12 A*s (3 9s, 9 A*s) at GCSE and 3 A*s at A-level (Maths, Further Maths and Physics).
I know first-hand what it takes to excel in the Oxford Maths Admissions Test (formerly MAT, now TMUA), and how to do well in Oxbridge interviews. I can also provide advice on personal statements.
I was tutored myself before getting into Oxford, so I know what works best as a tutee. I also have experience tutoring at MAT/TMUA level.
I have learnt a lot from my time at Oxford, including the effectiveness of the classic Oxford tutorial. I employ the same techniques in my own teaching, including a focus on the underlying concepts over rote learning.

My approach is flexible and tailored to each student's needs, so the below are subject to modification where desired.
My preferred teaching style is inspired by the tutorial/supervision system at Oxford and Cambridge. We will work through exam style questions, letting the student explain their reasoning and gently guiding or correcting them as necessary. I prioritise a deep understanding of the underlying concepts and encourage questions.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and will take place online using video call software and a shared online whiteboard. In-person tutoring available with additional transport costs around Oxford.
I have previously tutored students for the Oxford Maths Admissions Test (MAT/TMUA). I have not yet tutored GCSE or A-level, but I am well-versed in the mathematics required. I tutor any age.
