About Alvin
I've been a teacher for over a decade. I've been playing chess for over 25 years. I've been in many chess tournaments, versed Grandmasters, and picked up many tips and tricks along the way.
My bride and I have 3 children (all of which I've taught how to play), so I understand the importance of teaching children strategic thinking early.

During our sessions, I'll cover a range of topics, including strategic planning, theory of openings, and endgame techniques. But, most importantly, my goal is to help your child enjoy the process of learning and the game itself.
During our first session, I'll evaluate your child's current level of chess and determine whether we will start with foundational basics or opening developments.
We'll finish the lesson by discussing how you can continue to improve your chess game (outside of our lessons). I will provide you with resources and tips for studying and practicing on your own.
