I am a very hands on teacher. I think it’s important not students to not only listen or read, but it’s important for them to say things out loud and try things slowly on their own. I really try to make learning as fun and relatable as possible — it’s really easy to give up and tell yourself what you’re learning will never be relevant to your life or to think something is boring. I try my best to keep things light and funny, but still serious enough to make sure the material is understood and the knowledge is retained!
I am a molecular biologist! I received my B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology in California. During that time, I worked under a great professor in her research lab studying the biochemistry of the circadian clock and circadian rhythms. I now work for a contract research organization which provides support to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries.
