About Stella
I am a mathematician/philosopher with a PhD from the University of California, Irvine. Currently based in Victoria, BC, I love teaching students at all levels and abilities. I have extensive experience teaching multilingual/multicultural and neurodiverse students. Beyond my two primary subjects, Mathematics and Philosophy, I can also teach Korean and English as a Second Language. I look forward to getting to know you and support you in your educational endeavor.

Korean
My teaching approach focuses on the student. I develop a plan for each student based on the student's current ability and aspiration. Students are given a weekly report on their strengths and weaknesses. They are also welcome to make suggestions on what they want to study more. During the sessions, I make connections between mathematics/philosophy and other subjects or topics that the student finds interesting. This helps to motivate the students and understand that we can find connections in many different things.
