About Denise
I am a Chemistry tutor with over four years of experience and hold an MChem degree. Over the years, I have guided countless students through the fascinating field of atmospheric chemistry and environmental pollution. My teaching is focused on showing how chemical principles explain the challenges we face in the air we breathe. I specialize in helping learners understand smog formation, ozone depletion, acid rain, and the effects of greenhouse gases. These topics are central to both environmental science and Chemistry, and I make them accessible through clear explanations and real-world examples. Students often discover how the smallest chemical reactions can have the largest impact on global systems. I have worked closely with environmental science students, as well as those interested in air quality management and climate policy. My lessons are designed to bridge scientific detail with broader environmental concerns, helping students connect their studies with issues that matter in society. I also use case studies and recent research to make the subject dynamic and current. My teaching style balances patience with depth, ensuring that students not only prepare for exams but also develop critical thinking. I encourage learners to ask questions, challenge ideas, and see Chemistry as an essential part of sustainable progress. Each session is tailored to the individual, with the goal of building confidence and curiosity together. For me, teaching Chemistry is not only about academic achievement but also about awareness. My teaching approach in Chemistry is nurturing and personalized, designed to help every student feel supported as they learn. I believe Chemistry is not only about reactions in a lab, but also about understanding how those reactions shape our world. Along with core Chemistry, I focus on environmental chemistry, pollution remediation, green chemistry principles, and sustainable processes. These subjects help learners see Chemistry as a tool for building a healthier planet. I encourage conscious chemical thinking, where students question not only how reactions work, but also what their impact might be. I make lessons interactive by linking theories with real-life examples, from medicine to environmental conservation. My background as a Medical Technologist and Wildlife Photographer allows me to share unique perspectives, connecting Chemistry to health, nature, and sustainability. These insights show students that Chemistry is alive in every aspect of our daily lives. I also guide learners in exam preparation, assignments, and project work, making sure they feel confident and capable. Through discussions and problem-solving, I help them grow in both knowledge and awareness. Above all, I encourage students to celebrate their curiosity and see themselves as future contributors to a more sustainable world. Together, we can explore Chemistry not only as a subject, but also as a pathway to positive change.
