About Sadi

• My professional background

I hold an MSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a BSc in Physics. Since 2014, I have been working full-time as an Optical Design Engineer, applying advanced maths and physics daily in a high-tech industrial setting.

• My personal maths journey (the turning point)

During high school, I was selected for the International Maths Olympiad preparation group. In my first quarterly standard classroom maths exam, I scored miserably – not because I lacked ability, but due to baseless overconfidence and zero preparation. That humbling failure forced me to rebuild. I self-taught the entire next 3-year curriculum in under 2 months and scored 100% in every subsequent exam from that day forward. My experience studying advanced maths in the Olympiad group for 3 years gave me a unique, systematic blueprint for mastering any syllabus quickly.

• My tutoring experience

I have tutored on and off since 2007 – both face-to-face during my university years and alongside my full-time engineering career. I have taught lower-grade basics right up to A-Level mechanics.

• DBS & professionalism

I do not currently hold a DBS certificate, but I am more than happy to obtain one upon request. I take my students' progress and safety seriously.

• My motivation

I chose tutoring as a side hustle because I genuinely love teaching. I want to be the tutor who shows students that maths is not an inborn talent – it is a logical, systematic skill that anyone can master with the right approach.

• My core methodology

I build mathematical intuition first. I break every complex problem into tiny, logical steps and explain the core principles behind why each formula works, not just how to use it. This stops students from freezing when they see an unfamiliar question.

• My teaching style

I am a strong believer in learning through active problem-solving. I avoid passive lecturing. Instead, I explain concepts through varied, real-world examples and then guide students through a wide range of progressively challenging problems. This develops their ability to "improvise" and tackle entirely new question types with confidence.

• Lesson logistics

Standard lessons are 1 hour (flexible if needed). I use a graphics tablet + PC or iPad for a fully interactive digital whiteboard experience. Lessons are predominantly online.
