Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.

My name is Matthew, and I am a Data Analytics enthusiast with an MSc in Managing Innovation and Information Technology (Distinction) from the University of Salford. I have a background in Economics and Psychology and professional experience in business operations, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring.

I am passionate about helping people develop practical skills and confidence in working with data. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have used tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau to analyse data, create reports, and support business decision-making. As a Postgraduate Student Mentor at the University of Salford, I support students from diverse backgrounds in achieving their academic goals.

Outside of data analytics, I coach and enjoy football, youth development, community engagement, and continuous learning. I believe everyone can learn analytical skills with the right guidance, patience, and support, regardless of their starting point.

My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning experience where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their confidence, and achieving measurable progress. Whether you are studying for an exam, working on an assignment, preparing for a job, or simply looking to improve your skills, I would be delighted to support you on your learning journey.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, interactive, and tailored to each student's individual goals and level of experience. Whether you are a university student, a professional looking to improve your analytical skills, or a complete beginner, I aim to make learning data analytics simple, engaging, and easy to apply in real-world situations.

I specialise in Data Analytics, Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Business Intelligence concepts. My teaching approach focuses on hands-on learning rather than just theory. Students will work through real-world examples, practical exercises, projects, and case studies that help build confidence and develop job-ready skills.

For university students, I can also provide support with assignments, research projects, dissertations, data analysis techniques, and presentation of findings. For professionals, I focus on helping you understand how data can be used to solve business problems, create dashboards, analyse trends, and support decision-making.

As a recent MSc graduate with Distinction from the University of Salford and a Postgraduate Student Mentor, I understand the challenges students face and adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace.

Together, we will build practical knowledge, confidence, and the analytical skills needed for academic, professional, and personal success.
