About Marcus
I am a Physics tutor with over four years of teaching experience and an MPhys degree. My main focus is helping students understand biophysics and the physics of living systems. I enjoy guiding learners through topics where physics and biology meet. This includes molecular motors and how energy drives movement at the cellular level. I also teach membrane transport and the physical principles behind diffusion and active processes.
Students learn how nerve impulses work using clear physical models. I explain biomechanics by connecting forces, motion, and structure in the human body. I have worked closely with biology students and pre-med students from diverse academic backgrounds. Many come to me seeking clarity and confidence. I adapt lessons to their goals and learning styles.
My teaching is patient, structured, and concept-driven. I believe understanding builds from curiosity and good questions. Applying physics to life sciences reveals how beautifully connected nature truly is.

My teaching approach in Physics is gentle, reflective, and focused on real scientific understanding. I guide students through practical scientific inquiry, not just formulas and theory. Lessons include experimental design, careful observation, and asking the right scientific questions. I strongly emphasize data analysis, graph interpretation, and meaningful conclusions from results. Students learn error propagation, uncertainty handling, and why accuracy matters in experiments. I also teach clear scientific reporting for laboratory work, including lab notes, reports, and presentations.
I encourage hands-on exploration and independent thinking in every session. Curiosity is welcomed, and creative problem-solving is supported. I help learners develop confidence in planning and conducting experiments. Each student is guided to discover their own way of investigating scientific problems. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities. The goal is to build strong scientific skills that last beyond exams and laboratories.
