About Tessa
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and hold an MSc in Physics. I enjoy helping students understand the physics behind everyday objects and phenomena. From boiling water to bouncing balls or car braking, I use simple demonstrations and relatable examples to make concepts clear. My lessons focus on building strong conceptual understanding rather than just memorizing formulas. My teaching approach focuses on helping students build a strong foundation in Physics while preparing effectively for AP Physics tests. I cover all key areas including Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Waves, Optics, and modern Physics. Concept review is central to my sessions, ensuring students truly understand the “why” behind each principle. I emphasize problem-solving techniques, guiding students to tackle questions efficiently and accurately. Targeted drills and timed practice tests are regularly incorporated to improve speed and accuracy under exam conditions. I pay special attention to mathematical applications in Physics, helping students strengthen calculations and reasoning skills. Real-world examples and Sci-Fi references are used to make lessons engaging and memorable. Each session is tailored to the student’s strengths and weaknesses, ensuring no topic is overlooked. I focus on exam strategies, including question analysis, time management, and common pitfalls. Confidence-building is part of every lesson, preparing students to approach the test calmly and strategically. Assignments and exercises are carefully selected to reinforce learning. My goal is to ensure students achieve high scores while enjoying the process of learning. Together, we work step by step to reach their academic goals.
