About Steve

I started teaching guitar lessons as a 16 year old student in 1978. Since that time I have successfully taught people from ages 6 to 96 in both private and group lessons. I have been a rock band coach and beginning guitar camp coach. I have taught lessons for three local music stores as well as in my home, clients homes, and churches. Many of my students have been successful as professional musicians and teachers. My professional experiences include worship bands, solo and duo gigs, recording studio, wedding, funerals, special events, and various bans as a freelance musician. I perform and teach many styles and techniques covering many genres of music.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is structured around the students age, skill level, musical background, and goals. I like to find out where the inspiration to play the guitar comes from whether it be a family member, or professional. That enables me to target the areas of technique and knowledge that will be a more direct path to their musical goals. I enjoy finding creative ways to communicate musical concepts and skills. Humor is a key ingredient for me.

Rates will not vary based on the skill level of the student. I prefer to be paid on a per lesson basis. I can be somewhat flexible with scheduling however I do work full time. My current work schedule allows for lessons In the evenings, and mornings or afternoons on Wednesdays. I am always on time and prepared so that you get the most out of your investment.
