About Tony

Over the past 15 years I have grown into a working professional who makes a living playing and teaching music. I taught myself guitar at a young age and this took me through jazz band in high school into a scholarship-funded education at the University of Washington for upright and electric bass. There I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's in Jazz and Improvised music and learned from world-class musicians. After graduating I went on to teach at several music schools around Seattle. Keep in mind that all this time I've played gigs for extra income and constantly wrote new music to enrich my creative life. My unique approach mixes both self-taught motivation and mastery with university-level instruction and guidance.

About the lesson

My lessons are catered specifically to each student's goals and well being as a musician. I focus on embracing each musical moment while balancing creativity with technical mastery. A typical lesson involves playing and listening. This leads to a discovery that will inspire my student to practice until we meet next. I teach all ages and all levels: from beginners who have never played an instrument to experienced instrumentalists looking for a challenge that will push them further on their journey.
