About Sasha

Hi, my name is Sasha and I will be your Figma tutor. I believe that the best way to learn is a hands-on approach with expert guidance and industry experience. I have been a multidisciplinary designer for 15 years, working in branding, web design, UI design, motion graphics, etc. I have also worked in multiple different industries along with different sized companies - from start-ups to major branding conglomerates. I believe that it is important for us experienced designers to support up-and-coming colleagues and have a world with better design.

About the lesson

Mastering basic UI Design with Figma: A Hands-On & Interactive Course What I Teach This course is designed to introduce students (ages 15-18) to UI design and prototyping using Figma. Over three months, we’ll cover everything from Figma fundamentals to prototyping interactive designs and creating a portfolio-ready project. Key topics include: Figma Interface & Tools – Understanding frames, layers, components, and design elements UI Design Principles – Typography, colour theory, layouts, and responsive design Prototyping & Interaction – Creating clickable prototypes with animations and transitions Real-World Application – Working on a full project and building a portfolio Students will learn by doing—instead of just theory, they’ll work on interactive projects every step of the way. Why This Approach? Many students learn best through hands-on practice and experimentation. Instead of long lectures, each lesson is interactive and fun, focusing on real-world design challenges. Every class includes practical exercises, like redesigning an app screen or creating UI components. Assignments in between lessons help reinforce key concepts and build confidence. The final project ensures students leave with something tangible they can showcase. This method helps develop creative problem-solving skills, which are essential for any aspiring designer.
