About Michael
I’m Michael, a professional musician and educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and nearly 10 years of teaching experience. My background includes professional saxophone performance, teaching general, vocal, and instrumental music in public schools, as well as providing individualized private instruction to children, teens, and adults.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students across a wide range of ages, experience levels, and learning styles. I believe effective teaching combines strong musical foundations with patience, encouragement, and an ability to explain concepts in ways that make sense to each individual student.
Whether a student is building fundamental skills, strengthening their music reading or theory knowledge, improving on an instrument, or preparing for a performance, my goal is to provide knowledgeable, supportive instruction that helps them become more capable, confident, and independent musicians.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s experience level, goals, learning style, and musical interests. I focus on making music approachable and engaging while building strong fundamentals in music reading, theory, rhythm, technique, and overall musicianship.
A typical lesson combines focused instruction, guided practice, skill-building exercises, and practical application through music the student is learning. I break challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps and adjust my approach based on each student’s progress and needs.
With nearly 10 years of experience teaching general, vocal, and instrumental music in both public-school and private-lesson settings, I bring a broad music education background and a patient, encouraging teaching style. My goal is not only to help students improve their skills, but also to build confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of music.
Lessons are available for children, teens, and adults, from beginners who are just getting started to more experienced students looking for additional support with instrumental music, music reading, theory, musicianship, or performance preparation.
