About Abbie
I am a musician/teacher based in Manchester with a goal of making music education accessible, creative and enjoyable. I am an active member of Manchester's wonderful music scene with a First Class degree in Songwriting attained from BIMM (British Institute of Modern Music).
I come from a background of piano/vocal tutoring with further experience conducting songwriting workshops and also working in traditional classrooms settings. I have worked as a session musician, commissioned songwriter and play as part of a band.
My goal is to share my experiences and knowledge to help guide my students curiosity to create a lesson plan which is tailored to what really interests and helps you!

Lessons revolve all around my students and what goals you would like to achieve from our time together. Music is subjective and fun and I believe it should be taught with this attitude in mind.
My background is unconventional, coming from a view of modern popular music, with a first class degree attained from BIMM (British Institute of Modern Music). I found my interest was often hindered by traditional methods of music tuition and aim to make my lessons accessible and creative.
My lessons are for all ages, aimed at those who have a curiosity to access music in a less traditional manner. Introduction to music theory? Exploring new songwriting/arrangement techniques? How to hit that one note that seems impossible to sing? Lets work on these goals together. Or if you're not completely sure on your goals, lets figure them out too!
I have been tutoring for over 5 years in school classrooms, 1-1 tuition and small workshops and have always learnt from my students as much as they learn from me.
