About Matt
Hi, my name is Matt. I'm a professional musician and music teacher with more than 23 years of playing - and more than 15 years of teaching experience. I wanted to become a full-time musician since my childhood and I am very grateful that I could fulfil my dream. Teaching is not only a career for me but a calling that makes me a better musician and gets me to improve on the personal level as well every day of my life. I'm studying music for a long time, yet I still learn something new each day. Music can be a hobby or a passion that accompanies you until the end of your life. Let me share my passion with you !

* My lessons are crafted for your needs. I always teach what makes you the most inspired and what keeps you the most motivated. * I started teaching more than 15 years ago on a prominent Swedish guitar tutoring site in the form of video lessons. I started giving live lessons (in person and online) shortly after that, which became my primary income. I gathered a great student base in my hometown and all around the world. * I got my diploma at Kőbányai Zenei Stúdió (the most prestigious postgraduate schools of contemporary music in Hungary) in 2013 finishing both Performing Arts and Pedagogy majors with honours * My lessons are 60 minutes long * I have great experience of teaching all levels of musicians. I taught hundreds of people to hold their first chords leading them on the way of music as far as they wanted to go. I also have many professional musicians within my students. * I'm very efficient in teaching different techniques and giving you the tools to know when and how to apply them to best fit the musical situation you are in. I developed thorough methods for teaching each technique that I tested in my personal practice routine and with my students as well. * I'm good at teaching theory (and how to apply it on the fretboard) but if you want to learn only technique or songs, I'm up to it as well * Learning songs the right way is very uplifting and motivating. It is also a great learning tool in music education so we do it a lot in my practice through my personal transcriptions. * Improvisation is a great learning/composing tool and also a lot of fun. It also brings together all the elements we know about music. Let's take it to the next level. What's the next level for you ?

- Our first introduction went great ! We found common ground and shared some of my teaching philosophies, set the direction for our future lessons.Matt's response :
We also discussed som basics about picking technique and she adjusted quickly !
Perfect! I had my first lesson with Matt today and I can say I have quite enjoyed the lesson.
Matt cared to know what my musical knowledge was and what I am looking to learn, he seemed to be patient when teaching as well.
I'm booking my next class with Matt for surePerfect! Matt is an excellent guitarist and teacher. This is exactly what I need, he explains things clearly, and he have a lots patients.
- My lesson with Peter was very inspirational for both us I would hope.Matt's response :
He is a very attentive student, eager to learn. He also applies new concepts quickly and has a straight to the point practical approach of learning the instrument. There is still room to improve regardnig the application of theoratical concepts on the fretboard but we made great strides in this area as well. Looking forward for our further lessons !

Matt taught me guitar a few years ago. Most of my career as a musician consisted of self teaching via any source I could find, and there was a point, where a lot of dots were on my radar, but I could'nt chart them, then came Matt, who fabricated a consellation out of my already present stars, and enlightened me with a lot of stuff I didn't know before. I believe I had lessons with Matt for 2 or 3 years, and I can't thank him enough for the boost, as I got from him both as a guitarist and a musician. Thank you Matt! Love ya'!
After several years together. A brilliant guitarist and guitar teacher.
I've been learning from Matt for more than a year now.
He is a cool guy and a good teacher with lots of experience despite his age. His deep and wide knowledge is amazing. He can teach you the depth of music theory as well as hands-on, practical stuff. Picking techniques, scales, nuances of different styles (from funky to metal), you name it.
He's also very experienced in areas related to but beyond guitar, like recording, DAWs and so on which I really like and was helpful for me.
He can easily adapt to your style and find methods that works for you the most.
Excellent person and teacher!
He helped me a lot including picking techniques, music theory he know everything that what you need, blues, rock, metal, country etc.
So if you have a chance to learn from him do not hesitate, you won't regret! :).First of all I'd like to say, that in the first class I took with him, he already noticed, and then started correcting my mistakes, and my bad habits, regarding picking technique, which, prior to that class, I had no idea I've even developed. He seems very cool, level headed and can elaborate, and explain the answer he gave in various ways to any given question you may throw at him, so I would say his lessons are worth taking. He explains the exercises he gives, and why he gave them, he can get into different genres and subjects within the world of music itself and let's you have your freedom in class, making sure you learn what you are interested in, progressing in the direction you want to be headed. I'm really happy I found such a clutch of a guitar teacher. I full-heartedly reccommend him, not just because he is a superb guitarist, but also the fact that he is down-to-earth and there to help you on your journey in the world of music.
Matt is one of a kind of teacher, for sure. He basically can teach you any genre from blues to rock, to metal, even jazz. His explanation of things in the music world is really wonderful, being really smart and inspirational. He's been teaching me for 4 years now, I started my lessons with him when I was 13, now I am 17. In these 4 years he was so inspirational and taught so well, that I went from a beginner to a level, where I have a really good and confident playing. He opened my eyes to a lot of things that I would have never thought of. Furthermore he is a very nice guy, good personality, so he has all the qualities to be a perfect teacher, which he is. I recommend him to anybody with great heart!
I Highly recommend this guy for sure! He has tons of experience as a great live performer with various bands from Hungary, also from abroad so his technical skills or theoretical knowledge is not a question. He could give me the perfect fine tuning tips about my practice sessions, how to approach any kind of problems and also he is open minded for any request that I've had - no matter of the subject - just learn a particular song or let's talk about the difficulties that I've faced within that song - or vice versa, have a concept of a technic and let's learn a song which is based on that. So it was so helpful
Tremendous guitar player and just as great of a teacher and person. Great attention to detail, highly motivating, and versatile. Creates a really welcoming environment where you're not afraid to make mistakes, instead you learn really quick from them. Matt adapts his teaching method so that you not only get what you want out of his lessons, but also have fun along the way. His passion for music is contagious. I can only recommend!
He is a professional in every styile of music, patient, explains everything. He gives lessons according to your current level of playing the guitar, and helps you to improve. He is the best for beginners and intermediates too.
Matt is a truly unique and masterful guitar teacher, he has been teaching for a while but I can already feel the progress and he has professional music theoretical and practical knowledge
I am his student more than 5 years.
Good in theory and a really excellent guitar player as well. He can tell and present things and teach you the way how to learn and practice it.
Also great in transcribing songs.
He is at home in metal, rock and blues, maybe more!
Beside these he is an intelligent and nice guy!
Matt was the second guitar teacher I had, and I’ve got to know many more since. I can’t recommend him enough. If I ever decide to learn guitar from a teacher again, I’m going back to Matt. He’s the absolute best guitar teacher I’ve ever met.
He helped me grasp the basics of music-theory and build on that knowledge to quite a high degree, as well as helping me master advanced techniques on guitar such as sweeping and pick-slanting.He is an amazing guitarists.
He is in every genre, and also super fun and intelligent person. He knows music theory very well.
Before I met him I couldn't believe that somebody is able to play that well.Matt is really patient, kind and supportive! Best master ever, both professionly and as a person. Decent, reliable, flexible and adaptive to the needs of the student. Easy going and understanding, and most of all there is no question he can not explain about cords, notes, music and playing the guitar, in a very simple and excellent way.
Totally reccomended for all age and style.I started at Matt as a total beginner right after impulse buying my first guitar at the local music shop. All I knew that he was a highly-educated, professional musician, kind of an expert in my preferred music genre. For me (without any real talent in playing an instrument) the whole learning experience was a "jump in the dark" or an "extreme sport" if you like, but with weekly 1-2 hour lessons (and a lot of practice, of course) he took me from zero to someone who can actually learn, play and enjoy his favorite songs even more. He has a down to earth, no frills, relaxed teaching style. I was never forced to learn and practice anything I didn't like and I always got a detailed tabwork or a video note on the more challenging parts. He always picked the right songs for my skill level. All I had to do is show up, put in the time and effort and he got me wherever I wanted to be. Now I sit here with 6 guitars, over 20+ songs of my "childhood heroes" covered and still amazed how much I learnt over the years...
professional knowledge, flawless technique, down to earth and patient.
would learn from him anytime again. He is an amazing talent - both as a musician and as a tutor. Still he is a humble and honest man, can only recommend.
When I was Máté's student, i've learned a lot of guitar tricks like "Pinch harmonic" , "Alternate picking" "Arpeggios"...etc
He is very attentive, patient, and I'm very proud beacuse i've learned from one of the best guitarist :)
Thank you Máté!
Üdv Zsolti! :)He's the best Guitar tutor in the world ! You can learn everything what you want from him!
