About Alex
A lot of music teachers put their students down, and this is something I am firmly against. I am a friendly, understanding person and I strive to get the best out of every pupil in a positive and encouraging environment. I aim to make my students look forward to their lessons, and motivate them to succeed.

I teach absolute beginners through to advanced. Playing the piano (and indeed all instruments) is more than just playing right notes and correcting wrong notes. I will always make sure that the student fully understands the emotion of the piece, phrasing, articulation among many other aspects. I also teach theory. I understand that music theory can be pretty dull, but I will make sure that the student is engaged and ready to pass their theory exam. My lessons are for children and adults at any level. Lesson lengths range from 30 mins to 1 hour.
