1st of all - He is very skilful sitar player. He plays in very good way with big sense of music and ballance between virtuosity and simple beauty. He plays soo marvellous! His interpretation of Raag Yaman Kalyan (I've heard many) is one of the best I've ever heard! And the idea that he share his style of playing with students is amazing!
He really understands music - not only its technical part but also emotional.
He can share his knowladge in a very clear and understandably way - both academic and practical part of playing Sitar.
He is very dedicated teacher, very patient and supportive.

I’ve been learning the Sitar here in England and I had been hesitant about using an online teacher because I thought that it wouldn’t be as good because he wouldn’t be sitting with me; I was wrong. Shirish is the best Teacher that I have met, and he can see exactly what my fingers are doing, there is no need for him to be in the room. He is a professional Teacher who takes his job seriously, not Just a Sitar player who does a bit of teaching. I had a lesson at The Bhavan in London and the teacher was constantly angry that students aren’t as good as him at the Sitar, it was basically an hour of arrogance.
