About Mary

I am a dedicated Flute tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, teaching school students, college learners, and working professionals. I focus on helping students develop technical skill, confidence, and a love for music.

My teaching philosophy emphasises strong fundamentals, regular practice, and positive guidance. I believe every student can achieve musical growth with the right support and encouragement.

In my lessons, students develop breathing control, tone clarity, finger coordination, rhythm accuracy, and expressive musical skills. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and performance techniques to build complete musicianship.

One of my key achievements is mentoring students who have performed confidently in academic programmes, cultural events, and stage performances. Many students have built strong musical foundations and self-confidence.

My goal is to inspire students to enjoy flute learning and become confident, skilled musicians.

About the lesson

I teach flute using a methodology that blends practical learning, understanding, and interactive communication. Real-life examples and case studies make lessons relatable and help students connect theory to practice.

I focus on understanding each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style to create lessons that are effective and personalised. Communication is key; I encourage questions, discussion, and reflection to ensure active learning.

Integrity guides my teaching—I provide honest guidance while motivating students to improve. Along with flute practice, I also teach music theory, rhythm, ear training, and performance skills to build a complete musical foundation.
