About Oscar

Hey, I'm Oscar. I started producing my own music about 12 years ago, making mostly House and Drum & Bass and entering many remix contests. While I still do this I've since started making rock and folk music too. Although I started off as self-taught, I went on to study Music Technology at college and then Music Production at university.

I am a very friendly person who loves all things related to music and people, and my ultimate goal is to help you understand how to produce music, but also to help you enjoy being creative because that's the most important thing, so there's no need to be shy. This is a no-judgement or pressure zone!

I am of course LGBT+, accessibility and neurodiversity friendly and happy to accommodate however necessary.

I've produced all kinds of genres both for personal and professional projects, including Grime, Drum & Bass, House, Dubstep, Rock, Metal, Orchestral, Jazz, Indie and Pop . I started making music because I had an insatiable curiosity of how music is made, and quickly it became a passion, then an obsession, and now a career.

I love making music and I also love teaching so tutoring music production is a no-brainer for me!

About the lesson

If you've always wanted to learn how to produce your own music, or are already on that journey and need some assistance, or if your child is interested in music production, I'm your guy!

I can teach you how to compose, arrange, mix and master any kind of music. That can include teaching you how to record vocals or instruments, how to use FX, how to do sound design using synths, how to do sampling, how to edit audio, how to pitch-correct/autotune, how to make drum patters and much more.

We can jump straight into it at a higher level of difficulty, or start from the absolute basics. I know Logic Pro very well and have countless unique tips and tricks to make you achieve your goals better. Even if you use another DAW such as Ableton or FL Studio, the skills are all transferrable and FX plugins and synths often work the same way across different software so it wouldn't be a problem.

My lessons are usually 1 hour long, however they can be longer or shorter if needed. I like to start the first lesson by talking to the student and getting an understanding of their skill level, goals and learning style, and start with whatever it is the student is most interested in learning, or alternatively with whatever it is the student needs to learn in order to achieve their goal. Once I have a good idea of what they want to learn and where they want to end up, the lessons can flow very nicely, encountering challenges naturally and overcoming them together. For each area of music production (recording, mixing, mastering, arrangement, composition, sound design, arrangement, sampling) I have prepared methods of teaching and advice I have developed over years of experience.
