About Diamond
I have received a degree in Music Education. I taught middle school orchestra in the North Carolina Public School system before moving to Colorado Springs. I have had many violin and viola students over the course of my undergrad and post grad career. I believe in creating a positive culture and atmosphere in every lesson. I strive to maintain a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone of my students. Learning to play a string instrument is a wonderful journey that I love to help others embark upon. I offer a structured approach to lessons that allows students to see obtainable and clear goals in their learning.

Students will learn the fundamental techniques for violin and viola.
Beginning students will use portions of the essential elements for strings books to aid their learning, along with solo repertoire. A typical lesson has three elements: technique, musical knowledge, and solo repertoire.
Lessons for intermediate students consists of scale work, solo repertoire, and technique. Students may bring in materials from their orchestra classes from school to work on in the lesson. The goal for intermediate students is to develop the fundamental techniques of bowing and left hand posture.
Instruction is given in a positive manner. Students are encouraged to take agency of their learning through questions and critical thinking. Curiosity and excitement are encouraged in every lesson!
