About Jón
I have been a musician for 17 years, I started with instruments such as guitar and piano when I was 12 years old, later I learned to play the violin, transverse flute, clarinet, bass, ukulele, harmonica and trumpet, among others. I have 13 years of experience as a private teacher of Piano, guitar, violin and modern harmony. During my youth I had many presentations, always as a soloist, but in recent years I have worked as a bassist and guitarist in various musical projects in the city of Puerto Vallarta.

I like that my students learn music as well as learn language. 1. When we are very young we start with our first words. First I teach to play something very basic, it is important that the student can play something so later he can understand what he/she is doing. 2. When we know how to speak, at school, they teach us to read and write. Solfeo is one of the subjects I enjoy teaching, it gives a lot of independence to the student once they learn it. 3. When we know how to read and write, they teach us grammar. The study of harmony tends to resemble grammar in linguistics, because it teaches us how music works. If my student is already a musician, I enjoy skipping the first step and maybe the second and going straight to advanced harmony. With me you can learn chords, scales, terminology and musical language, improvisation, composition and musical production.
